- 01You are never too old to start singing. With focused practice, adults can make significant improvements at any age because singing is a motor skill that can be learned and refined over time. While younger singers often absorb things more passively, older learners can improve quickly through mindful awareness, clear guidance, and consistent practice.
- 02A vocal coach usually focuses on performance, interpretation, confidence, and helping you shape your unique sound. A singing teacher often focuses more on technique, vocal function, and how to understand and control the voice. My lessons combine both, so you get technical development as well as expressive, performance-focused coaching.
- 03You should expect a relaxed and playful environment. There is no “right” or “wrong” — just a gentle curiosity as we mindfully unpack the voice. My approach is influenced by my training in Estill Voice and is quite somatic, as it requires a deepening awareness of the body. Expect a little voice science (don’t worry, not too much!) and, most importantly, singing the music you love.
- 04Breathing is less complex than you may think. The diaphragm engages on the inhale, not the exhale, so there is no “supporting from the diaphragm” — rather, it’s the opposite. You learn to relax the surrounding muscles (like the abdomen) so you don’t push too much air and make it overly difficult for the vocal folds to stay in contact. The goal is to make the breath feel effortless and dynamic. Support is instead about posture and engaging the right muscles to stabilise the movement of the voice.
- 05Improving your upper range is usually about learning coordination, not forcing the voice. The goal is to reduce tension, engage the right muscles, and find a setup that lets you sing higher with freedom and control. It can feel counterintuitive at first, especially if you’re used to pushing, but with the right approach the voice becomes more reliable and less likely to crack.

- 07I offer online singing lessons as well as in-person lessons in East London. Online lessons can be a great option, and I’ve had strong results teaching this way. That said, if possible, I usually prefer in-person lessons because I can notice more detail, we can sing together, and I can accompany you on piano in the studio.
- 08A one-off lesson is £75. A package of 4 lessons works out at £70 per lesson, and weekly subscription lessons are £65 per lesson. Package and subscription options are designed to support steady progress over time
- 09I trained in Estill Voice with the world renowned Anne‑Marie Speed. I’m a professional jazz pianist and singer, and my teaching combines performance experience with vocal science and mindful practice. This allows me to support singers who want both technical clarity and musical freedom.
